Method#2. Alternatively, you can duplicate artboards in Illustrator using the classic copy and paste commands. Make sure that your artboard is selected and press Control-C to copy it, and then Control-V to paste the copy. If you copy an artboard in Illustrator and the copy is blank, then you need to have a look at the control panel and make Applya magenta stoke and remove the fill from the black shape on the cut layer. Magenta is the universally acknowledged colour of cut paths. Don't ask me why. Select the contents of the cut layer again, and hit 'Object > Path > Offset Path'. Enter the offset (in my case 2mm) and choose 'Round' for Joins.
Adialogue should then appear, allowing you to enter numerical values, and has a 'copy' button. Again, once the dialogue has closed, you can press CTRL + D to repeat. The Blend tool can 'step' objects, which also has an option for rotating objects to match a path. The 'Actions' palette can record and playback multiple transformations.
